If they decide you’re not homeless you can still go on the council waiting list. You will need to fill in a housing application form. You can apply to housing associations - the homeless team can give you a list. You can also go on Property Pool. You can do this at a One Stop Shop.
You’re considered a priority need if you’re homeless and either:
- 16 or 17 (unless you are a care-leaver in which case Integrated Children's Service are responsible for you) OR
- 18-20 and have left care (and social services are not responsible for you)
- responsible for a child
- you or your partner is pregnant
- you're fleeing violence OR
- you've lost your home through a disaster such as a fire or flood

If you've no roof over your head the homeless team may offer you temporary accommodation while they look into your situation.
What's 'suitable' accommodation?
To be 'suitable,' accommodation should normally be:
- based on your needs (it’s vital you tell them clearly what you need)
- near your antenatal care, or your school, college or job
- near a source of support, like friends and family
- somewhere that you can afford
